Evan,
a Seattle native, was born in 1982,
and has lived in the area his entire life.
From an early age he expressed an
interest in music and as long as he can
remember it has been a constant in his life.
In elementary school, Evan became
involved with The Northwest Choirs, where
he spent the following twelve years as an
enthusiastic member. “The NW Choirs is
a great organization that exposed me to
so much wonderful music, it really
broadened my horizons.” The instruction
level there is nothing less then top notch.
He can’t say enough about the ability of
Joseph Crnko (and many others) to expect and receive greatness
out of the students.
“I am so lucky to have been exposed to
such amazing people, and I constantly feel
their positive impact on me.” He finished
out his tenure with the organization by
spending his high school years in
Vocalpoint! Seattle, where he sang both
sacred music in a coral setting and
popular music in more of a musical
theater approach. “I can’t express about how much VP taught me
and I owe so
much to the instructors and other members.” Additionally that’s
where he
learned that he loved performing, and
playing music. His interest in pursuing it
further was undeniable from that point
forward. “When I graduated I was left
with a measure of confidence needed to
be an entertainer, all a product of VP’s
impact on me.”
The next four years Evan spent
attending North Seattle Community
College and the University of
Washington, where he studied History
and English. During a summer quarter

over seas through the UW, Evan made
his first Dollar (well actually it was a Euro) playing guitar
and singin’ along on a street
corner in Amsterdam. “That was the first
time I knew it was possible to make a
buck playing music. You mean they’ll
actually pay you for this???”
A couple years ago, Evan was exposed
to a Latigo Lace performance at the
Little Red Hen. Although he was
concentrating on having a good time, the
band made a good impression on him. So
when he read that the band was searching
for a singer, he thought he’d give it a shot.
He had responded to a few ad’s in the past
for singers, but things never clicked. This
time he had a feeling that this time it could
be different. “Lucky for me it was, and I
get to perform music with a great group of
people. Being able to work, and entertain
with people who are professional is such
an opportunity…and we have a whole lot
of fun doing so!”
